sway me now...

i have been meaning to post, but have yet to muster up the energy to type out all of the ideas in my head or to give an adequate update of what has been going on since this post. i promise, it's coming soon! BUT, i just stumbled upon the most beautiful & romantic pictures of cooking & food (yes, i said ROMANTIC) ... and thought i would share them with you. i thought i would share them because they inspire me. they inspire me to fall in love with cooking; to spend quality time in the kitchen; a sudden realization of the song and dance that is cooking....a swaying of sorts. over time i have developed an itch for becoming a food photographer and am convinced that this has pushed me over the edge...seriously guys, i'm pretty sure that  i need to go ahead and invest in some photography classes because as much as i love my instagram pictures (also as seen above), nothing can compare to what you are about to witness... nothing. at. all. *sigh*... and even if you don't enjoy these like i do, take the time to read her posts. she is a wonderful writer of stories.

and of course, i have included a song for you to listen to as you scroll up and down the pages of this blog. and if rosemary clooney isn't your thing, try out some pavarotti. besides, you should ONLY listen to this music while cooking anyway.... if not, you are completely missing out.

current jam.

this song has gotta be one of my favorite anthem type songs. you know, songs that cause you to almost scream "amen" to every word, fist pump in the air, or do a little drum beat on the steering wheel?  i heard the most beautiful acoustic version of this song this morning and fell in love with it all over again. the lyrics are so true for me in so many different ways that i'd probably have to write an entire essay just to explain how. i'm convinced that there's nothing better than finding a song (or two) to really relate to during a new season in life. there's something so relieving when every word, sentence, thought seems to be saying all the things that you have been feeling, allowing an opportunity to really summarize and make sense of all the clutter that has been piling up for days. there's just something comforting in the fact that someone somewhere else has felt these very same things you have been feeling; something sentimental in knowing you aren't alone in your experiences; a healing there that reaches your soul! i am in a place right now where there is much i want to say, but have learned that sometimes just because i feel like saying something doesn't necessarily mean that i should for the time beingand while i realize that maybe posting all of this really contradicts my last statement, i couldn't help but share this song anyway and you know....vent, of course. so thank you in advance for taking the time to digest some of my random thoughts.

jazz & paper

i was just browsing around the blog world today and found out that april is national jazz appreciation month! guys, if you didn't know.. i have a thing for jazz.. and record players. i can't even believe that there is a whole month dedicated to such wonders.

i know i might be the only one in excitement over this, but it's the little things, guys. the little things that make me oh so happy!

So for now.. in celebrating such wonderful music, here is a downloadable paper project from the curiosity group!

who doesn't love a little paper folding break in their day?
and it comes with mini record's and covers!

a treat for your ears

if you are anything like me, you love you some merry christmas tunes that spread that happy cheer better than cinnamon butter on Texas Roadhouse rolls!  however,  i've been getting a little annoyed with the same 6 songs that are on a constant rotation on radio stations everywhere. let's be honest, you do too. i happened to find this digital album on another blog today that has helped me get out of my ebenezer scrooge gloominess of avoiding christmas songs altogether. my favorite so far is "o, little town of bethlehem" ... enjoy!

merry christmas :)

So looking forward to tonight!
Me and two of my favorite people in the world are going to see Sara Bareilles tonight!

She is so talented.
underrated & overlooked.
Take some time.
Get to know her.
She's got soul.

Pictures to come!

From my heart to yours...

Happy 1st of October!!!

Cheers to my favorite month of the year!!
Why you might ask?
Well, it just so happens to be right smack center in the

Heart of Fall.

Let me explain.

October is....

  • A month where the weather becomes a perfect 70 degrees at it's highest.
  • When the leaves officially make their beautiful transformation from yellow shades of green to deep orange, red, and auburn brown.
  • One more month closer to getting an extra hour of sleep!
  • Filled with the aroma of pumpkin spice and apple pie.
  • When you never leave your house without a cozy cardigan.
  • When a floral patterned scarf is always a must.
  • Leggings. Leggings. Leggings. Tights. I'm a little obsessed with leggings.

{Speaking of leggings... I just bought the most comfortable pair at Target for 5 BUCKS. best $5 I've ever spent. ever.}

So in celebration of October, I thought I'd share a little fall music with you.

Yes, I said it, F A L L M U S I C.
magic.
two of my favorite things.

It's a hopeless romantic kind of song.
It's called AUTUMN LEAVES.

Yes, these two are the same song, but both so lovely.

The first one is my favorite.

You see, I have this thing for Mr. Nat King Cole.
His voice melts me.
I could go on and on,
but I'll save those thoughts for another time.
I've listened to this song...about 47 times in the last two days.
I'm not exaggerating.
My phone died halfway through the day because of my infatuation with this song.

The second video is a cover of this exact same song. I love originals, nothing can compare to them, but oh, how I like to see how other artists make these songs their own.

This guy is all the way from Spain.
Barcelona, to be exact.
His name is Alex.
I wish he could sing to me everyday.
I'd even be satisfied if he just played that guitar for me all the time..
He does covers of all types of songs, and since I'm sure most of you have never heard of him, I thought I'd introduce you.
